Find the Sester's Censer in Revenant Graves, interact with it to enter its dungeon, defeat Sester Secundus, and bring the recovered Censer back to Sester Genessa in her Marrow Keep arena. Genessa does not unlock through the normal map-reveal process used for most Shells.

- Return the item to Genessa in Marrow Keep to unlock her Shell.
Why Genessa is different
Most Shell routes are handled through exploration and map information, but current retail guides agree that Genessa requires a boss item and a return trip to her arena.
Week 1 fixes Genessa combat bugs
The unlock route itself is unchanged in the current notes. After unlocking her, update before diagnosing combat behavior: Week 1 explicitly fixes Genessa's dashes, corrupted dash behavior, drifting astral copies and target selection for doubles.
If Mether's Severance does not work with Genessa
The Week 1 notes introduce Shell respec through Zhirelle, but current Steam and Reddit reports say Genessa may not expose the same Shell Keeper interaction while she is active. The developer has not listed a universal Genessa respec rule in the patch notes, so treat this as a reported limitation: do not consume, sell or repeatedly rebuy the item while waiting for a version-specific confirmation.
Route anchor
GamesRadar identifies Outskirts of Mammon Beacon as the easiest starting anchor, followed by a southeastern route toward the middle bone gate and the large arena with red apparitions.
Where to change into Genessa
After the unlock, return to Genessa's arena when you want to equip her. The route source notes that she is not switched in the same chamber used for the other Shells.
